DRONEDROP

Current methods of delivery require that a user designate a brick and mortar drop off location in advance.

dronedrop aims to give users increased flexibility to order smaller scale package on the go.

Context

Early stage drone delivery programs have begun to launch, with current delivery radii spanning 2 miles. Packages may weigh up to 3 kg and are a bit larger than a shoebox.

Current competitors include Flytrex and soon to launch Amazon Prime Air. dronedrop may be accessed through regular shipping portals, similar to UPS and Fedex options.

Douglas is leaving for San Francisco in 2 hours. He realizes that he forgot his macbook charger at home, and doesn’t have time to leave the office before heading to the airport.

Douglas goes to Amazon and searches for the thunderbolt charger. Amazon suggests that he adds the extension cable, which he selects to allow for more flexible seating in the office. Douglas is prompted to select his shipping method after he clicks the checkout button.

He chooses to ship with dronedrop, and elects delivery in 20 minutes to his pre-saved office address.

EMILY HAS A BUSY DAY WITH BACK TO BACK MEETINGS. WHILE SHE IS RUNNING UPTOWN, HER heel snaps. With no time to spare, Emily goes to Club Monaco and chooses a pair of pumps.

At checkout, she selects dronedrop and inputs the address of a coffee shop on the corner. 15 minutes later Emily receives her new shoes and is able to continue her day.
